Hardened & Tempered Steel Strips

Hardened & tempered spring steel strips / coils are also commonly known as "H & T steel strips". Hardening and Tempering is a thermal process that strengthens steel strips through a controlled heating and cooling process. This process of hardening and tempering improves the mechanical properties of the steel strip and gives a tougher and more durable product. The hardening process involves heating the steel strip to above the critical transformation temperature for the given grade and then rapidly cooling. The problem here is that the steel strip in this condition is extremely brittle and therefore requires further treatment in the form of tempering. This consists of reheating the steel strip to a lower temperature and holding it at the given temperature for a given period of time. This process is done in an inert atmosphere to avoid oxidation. This type of steel strip has high degree of toughness and has excellent spring properties. This type of steel strip can be used for various applications like wood cutting saws, industrial knives, sheet metal components, automobile sector and springs.

The steel strips / coils that are produced during the hardening & tempering process can be cold rolled hardened & tempered low carbon steel strips / coils or cold rolled hardened & tempered medium carbon steel strips / coils or cold rolled hardened & tempered high carbon steel strips / coils. Scope COR-TEN A applies to plates up to 12.5 mm in thickness, COR-TEN B applies to plates up to 50 mm in thickness.

Definition
Weathering means that due to their chemical compositions COR-TEN A and COR-TEN B steels, when utilized unprotected, exhibits increased resistance to atmospheric corrosion compared to unalloyed steels. This is because it forms a protective layer on its surface under the influence of the weather.

Applications
The steel is used for various types of welded, bolted and riveted constructions e.g. steel frame structures, bridges, tanks and containers, exhaust systems, vehicles and equipment constructions.
Basic guidelines for the use of this steel in the unprotected condition are described in EN 10025-5 and DASt rule 007.

The notched-bar impact energy is determined on ISO-V longitudinal test specimens at a temperature of - 20°C as an average of three tests. For product thicknesses ≥10mm the average value is at least 27 J. For thicknesses between 10mm and 6mm, the minimum impact value is reduced proportionally to the specimen width (product thickness).

No impact test is performed on products below 6mm in thickness.

The current situation about the industry of stainless steel pipe fitting

In recent years, with the improvement of people's? living standards, people began to focus their attention on the issues of their living environment especially for their home decoration. This kind of situation has invisibly brought a lot of pressure to the industry of the pipe fitting. Today, there are many manufacturers for stainless steel pipe fittings. The Anita Steel & Metals is the leader of the industry of Butt Weld Pipe Fittings and they have many years experience about the manufacturing in this industry. Their main products have included the stainless steel pipe fitting, seamless elbow, reducer, forged flange, bend, ASTM A234 WPB seamless elbow pipe fitting and so on. Today, they will give us some explaining about the situation and future development of this industry. This article is original from the website www.anitasteel.com .
As we all know, whatever the industry you are in, the competition of the industry has been risen year after year. The general manager of the Anita Steel & metals has said that they have fought for many years in the production and sale of stainless steel pipe fittings, seamless elbow, tee, reducer, cap, forged flange and other non-standard accessories and other products. For every changing and progress of this industry, this company has the well understanding about it. The reporter has asked status of the domestic stainless steel valve fittings industry. The general manager has said that many familiar enterprises have entered into this industry and the competition for sales of these products has become too fierce.

Now is the era of information explosion, it is inevitable that the enterprise would meet the competition in the product. The expert thinks that the competition in the industry is good thing for some enterprises. Because of the competition, the enterprises have to improve their product quality and on the other hand, they should also improve their service quality. At the same time, with the fierce of the industry, the consumers would use less money to get better or more consumption and services.

As we all know, the market is a sieve. When the industry is in the development and progress, the market is survival of the fittest companies within the industry. For some Competitive large enterprises, the firm size would get bigger through the competition and the firms are also become more and more high visibility. But for some enterprises which do not have competitive, they may face with the merger or the risk of failure. So the Anita Steel & metals which is the manufacturer of the A403 WP 304 WP 316 stainless steel pipe fittings would face with the competition better than before and provide the high quality products and services for their clients.

http://www.anitasteel.com - Anita Steel & Metals has long been specialized in manufacturing carbon steel pipe fitting, Butt Weld Pipe Fittings, Forged Pipe Fittings and Alloy Steel Pipe Fittings. We provide high quality products and customized service for clients all over the world.

Ring Type Joint Gaskets

"RTJ" (Ring Type Joint) gaskets are manufactured in accordance with API-6A and ANSI B16.20 specifications. RTJ's have "R" numbers assigned to them for pipe size and pressure class identification. Stock materials include soft iron, low carbon steel, 4-6 chrome (f5), 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 347, Monel, Inconel and Incoloy.
API Ring Joint Gaskets
API Ring Joint Gaskets come in two basic types, an oval cross section and an octagonal cross section. These basic shapes are used in pressures up to 10,000 psi. The dimensions are standardized and require specially grooved flanges. The octagonal cross section has a higher

sealing efficiency than the oval and would be the preferred gasket. However, only the oval cross section can be used in the old type round bottom groove. The newer flat bottom groove design will accept either the oval or the octagonal cross section. The sealing surfaces on the ring joint grooves must be smoothly finished to 63 Microinches and be free of objectionable ridges, tool or chatter marks. They seal by an initial line contact or a wedging action as the compressive forces are applied. The hardness of the ring should always be less than the hardness of the flanges.
BX and RX Ring Gaskets
The BX ring gasket differs from the standard oval or octagonal shape in that it is square in cross section and

tapers in each corner. BX can only be used in API 6BX flanges. RX ring gaskets are similar in shape to the standard octagonal ring joint gasket but their cross section is designed to take advantage of the contained fluid pressure is effecting a seal. They are both made to API 6A.
Special Ring Type Joint Gasket
For critical and non standard applications, where ring type joints are unsuitable in their standard form, FLIPS India Engineering offers a range of specialized ring type joint gaskets to suit the needs of the petrochemical industry.
  • Type R Ring Type Joints with PTFE Inserts
  • Type RX Ring Type Joints with PTFE Inserts
  • Rubber Coated Ring Type Joints
  • Transition Ring Type Joints
  • Blind Ring Type Joints

CNC Machine

CNC machining refers to any process that uses a CNC machine. This could be for routing, milling, drilling, or other types of work that is done with metal, wood or other materials. This is a manufacturing process that uses the automatic opportunity from the computer to create shapes or forms that must be precise.

Raw materials are used and they are put into a CNC Machine that uses cutting tools to make these shapes. The CNC machining process involves computers that have at least one microprocessor and several units for storage. With CAD or CAM software systems added to CNC the computer can be programmed to produce the precise movements that are able to create the part.

In CNC machining the process is automated which saves the operator time and saves the business money. The operator is able to load the materials, program the machine and then the machine can work without attention when set up properly; the amount of time it is run without attention is also programmed in.

An important aspect of any CNC machining is for the operator to know the machine well. CNC technology is an addition to the general aspects of the machine. As an example, if you are doing routing, adding CNC to the process only automates it. However, for the operator, it means that they must understand the machine, how to put in codes or use CAD or CAM and how to operate the machine; they must also understand how basic routing works.
